2019-2020 Welcome and Off-Season Updates
As we head into the 2019-2020 hockey season, the Waterford Board of Directors would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new and returning hockey families. It’s going to be an exciting year so let’s make it a great 2019-2020 season!!!

As an association, our duties don’t stop when the season ends. Many of us are just as busy thinking all things hockey in the summer months as we are mid-season. This past off season is a shining example of this.

Following the conclusion of last season representatives from Delhi, Simcoe, Waterford, Port Dover and Langton Minor Hockey Associations continued to explore the possibility of working together to improve the quality of hockey opportunities in Norfolk. Specifically, we furthered discussions on the possibility of entering a Rep Partnership Agreement.  These meetings continued through the Spring and early Summer. In early July each association agreed to seek board approval whether to continue. The Boards of Port Dover, Simcoe, and Waterford voted in favour of continuing discussions, while the Langton and Delhi Boards elected not to participate in further exploration.

Building on the foundations established last season while incorporating the lessons learned, representatives of the Port Dover, Simcoe, and Waterford associations have made meaningful progress towards the completion of a draft Rep Partnership Agreement for all members to consider.

The need for open, transparent and consistent communication was a message heard loud and clear, and we are going to achieve this through coordinated communication, so that all members of each association receive accurate and timely information. Leveraging the power of social media, a Norfolk County Hockey Facebook page has been launched. Here is the link to the Norfolk County Hockey facebook page.

In the coming weeks and months we will be issuing joint updates on our respective association websites and through the Norfolk County Hockey Facebook page. Find the first of these updates below.
